Objectives — what the players will do

  1. 1Show off everything learned this season
  2. 2Lead your team — encourage a teammate, help someone up, cheer every effort
  3. 3Finish the season wanting more soccer

Play 1 — starts when the second player arrives

4v4 World Cup — Round 1

Split into teams the players name themselves. Short games on two small fields, rolling schedule, everyone plays every round. Standard rules, big energy, music if you have it — and rotate a captain's armband each game: the captain picks the team cheer and leads the high-fives.

Practice — the one taught activity of the night

Skills Reload — Players' Choice

Ten minutes: the players vote for their favorite practice of the season — dribble tag, passing gates, rescue passes, the 1v1 ladder, walk-up finishing, or big shape restarts — and you run it one last time. Remind them what it looked like in week one versus today. That gap is the season.

Level down — if it breaks down

Keep everything relaxed and silly — today is a party, not a test.

Level up — if it looks too easy

Add one friendly challenge to the chosen game: beat your week-one record.

Play 2 — always finish playing the real game

4v4 World Cup — Finals (+ Parents vs Kids)

Run the finals with one twist: goals built from the team's own half count double, and every act of leadership — helping an opponent up, cheering a teammate, congratulating the other team — earns a bonus point. Then hand out medals or shout-outs — bravest builder, best helper, best move, loudest leader. If parents are up for it, close with a short kids-vs-parents game. They will talk about it all year.

Key coaching points — in your own words

  • ·What is your favorite thing you learned this season?
  • ·What can you do now that you could not do in week one?
  • ·Who made you better this season? Go tell them thanks!
  • ·How do we protect the badge? By lifting each other — what did you do today that lifted a teammate?
Progress the session

None needed — festival day runs on joy, not levels.

Regress the session

If energy dips, shorten the games and add a silly rule: weak-foot goals count triple.

Game-day focus — watch for this on Saturday

Celebration led by the players. Every player rotates everywhere, every goal gets a cheer from both sidelines, captains lead the high-five lines, and every kid leaves already asking about next season.

Message to forward to your parents

It is LEAD week — our festival finale. Ask your child about their favorite moment of the season and who they helped today — and come to the final session if you can. It is our season party, and there are strong rumors of a parents-vs-kids game.
